As you can see, we made a pretty good dent in it at lunch time. Hubby informed me another piece is all he wants for dinner tonight . . . with vanilla ice cream, please.
Okay it's on lady! We made peach cobbler so I'll post a picture of it tonight. I have to say I like apple pie better than peach though.
We got some peaches from a neighbout but they were ripe and we needed to use them right away so we froze a bunch after we took the skin off and took out the pit. Then we left a couple for eating and made a cobbler of course.
Yum, just like I like it nice and solid inside, looks delish! I think I'm going to have to make one soon, although I don't want to open one of my canned jars of apples LOL!
Mama Tea - Darn! It would have been perfect for a special Monday morning breakfast for you. Wish you had been here! (But, no, we did not have pie for breakfast. Scrambled eggs with mushrooms and red onion, cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes garnish. I'm making myself wait until break time for the pie!)
Erin - I know just how you feel about "using" your precious canned goods. I didn't have as many jars of applesauce as I wanted last year so I rationed them out not eating as much sauce as we would have wanted. Now, it's time to make applesauce from this year's apples . . . and I still have several quarts of last year's left! Dummy, dummy, dummy. Why the heck didn't we just eat and enjoy as long as it lasted??
Simply Scaife Family - Thank you! Daughter stole away with a piece for her break time this morning at work. 'Course, she rarely eats breakfast so she'll be ready for it at 11 o'clock break!
And what, may I ask, is up with that profile picture get-up? It reminds me of the outfit that Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum assembled on Through the Looking Glass...
Susan - It's a couple of years old but one that shows off my astoundingly beautiful face in the best way.
I had just gotten that monster stock pot which I'd been lusting after for years and was so enamored with it I was flouncing around the kitchen showing hubby all the wonderful uses for it.
I live with my husband on a small homestead in Northern Minnesota. Our daughter currently lives in a small cabin in the woods not too far from us.
Our place is located outside a small town and a two and a half hour's drive from the nearest big city. Trips to the city are infrequent, well-planned, and exhausting!
We currently raise chickens and have hives of honey bees. Raising some of our meat and most of our fruits and vegetables is a priority for us; so, along with our birds for meat and eggs, we have fruit trees, berry patches and a huge vegetable garden.
Quilting is my passion, and I could happily spend each day in my quilt studio if I weren't happily spending each day out in the garden. Good thing we have winters up here; Mother Nature helps keep my life balanced.

What a wonderful pie! It's so dense and apple-y looking. I bet it smells deliriously good. I'll be right over...
