Once again I had to forego plans to get that last blasted coat of poly on the cabinet doors because when I was ready to set up outdoors this morning and go for it the temp was only 44 degrees. With a breeze blowing. Good thing I didn't try for it anyway because we've had sprinkles of rain on and off all day.
So did I skip happily into my quilt studio and spend the day there? Heck, no.
I stoked up the wood stove, put two ventilating fans in windows, opened the front door and painted kitchen cabinet frames.
It went really fast and I got the second coat on this afternoon. Really, really like the way they look and can hardly wait to see the pine doors mounted on them. Maybe by Christmas? Bite my tongue and don't even jest! It'd better happen a lot sooner than that.

Your kitchen is looking gorgeeous! I love the yellow - it is so bright and inviting looking. And the counters+floor tiles look fantastic! I cannot wait to see the pine doors mounted on those cabinets. It really looks great.
It looks fantastic even without the doors. Don't you have a garage or other covered area that you could do your polying in? But I guess temperature for drying is important so it will have to be warm enough outside for it unless you have a heated garage.
Oh my, it is gorgeous Mama Pea! I love the color combinations you have picked:)
BE RIGHT BACK-YEP,BUT I COULDN'T REMEMBER, I HAVE THE SAME SCALLOPING OVER MY KITCHEN SINK,OF COARSE YOURS LOOKS MUCH SMARTER PAINTED YELLOW THAN JUST PLAIN WOOD,AND A SECOND WOW -HOW YOUR COUNTER TOPS GO WITH THE FLOOR YOU PICKED OUT.YOU ALL SET YET FOR THE BETTER HOMES AND GARDEN PEOPLE TO COME OUT FOR A PHOTO SHOOT ?
That is going to be the cheeriest kitchen ever --- I love the color!
Oh, I LOVE the colors! It looks so warm and inviting- just what a kitchen should be. It's coming together. Don't worry, you'll have it before the snow flies!

I've always loved yellow in a kitchen! Look'n good!
You've definately sent your weather my way-blustery, cold, and rainy.....for the past week! It's supposed to be sunny and 50 today so I'm HOPING to get some laundry hung out on the line. Funny, the "little things" that are the most important. Hope you get a chance to sneak in some polying!
Beautiful! Can you come do my kitchen next???
Susan - Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm also eager to see the doors mounted. :o]
Sparkless - We have a garage but it's sectioned off into a small part that is heated and the bigger part, where there would be room for the doors, is unheated. :o(
Stephanie - Thank you very much!
judy - No, no photo shoot! I was just trying for a kitchen that would be big enough and comfy to be in!
dr momi - Several people have commented that it does look cheerful. Not a bad thing.!
Judy - Done before the snow flies? Promise?
Carolyn Renee - Thank you!
Sue - Still 37 at 8:30 but sunny . . . finger crossed!
Jen - I have a feeling you're talented in interior decorating just as you are in everything else!
That's a beautiful kitchen! It will be well worth all the hard work you are putting into it. I'm sure by Christmas, it will all be finished, things will be back in their place, and you will be enjoying the fruit(cakes) of your labor.

That kitchen is looking fantastic!
Lori - Funny thing you should mention fruitcake! I've been having a hankering lately to miss up the first batch of the season, soak it down with some brandy and set it to "mellowing."
Erin - Thank you very much, ma'am! :o}
Lori - Did I say "miss up the first batch . . . ?" Um, I meant to say "mix up." Kinda sounds like I've been in the brandy already. Hic. ;o}
