Here we are at the end of Easter Day, 2011. It was a relaxing day with friends and family. A small group we were for dinner: Papa Pea, Chicken Mama and me. Our good friends, M and D, stopped over for a visit. We're so fortunate to have them as friends and nearest neighbors.
Papa Pea met Chicken Mama at the door when she arrived and she handed him one basket while she went back to the car to get more.
Why look! It's an Easter Wabbit and she's bearing gifts!
My basket on the left, Chicken Mama's in the middle, and Papa Pea's on the right.
Here's Papa Pea opening a box of very special goodies that the Easter Wabbit made especially for him.
Chicken Mama makes an unbelievably, scrumptious confection that tastes like a Mounds Bar (which used to be her papa's favorite candy bar in his misspent youth) except her concoction is a trillion times better . . . to. die. for!
Chicken Mama was pretty happy that a copy of Catherine Friend's new book, "Sheepish - Two Women, Fifty Sheep & Enough Wool to Save the Planet" was in her Easter basket.
The Easter Bunny also wrote Chicken Mama a letter which she seemed to find pretty funny.
Hope you all had a really nice Easter Day and that you enjoy your Easter goodies and all the egg salad, deviled eggs, and hard boiled eggs that will be your lunch tomorrow. And the day after that. And the day after that.

Looks like a fun day all around.
Love, love, love the wabbit ears! Happy Easter!
How fun! And by the way - my children would be more than happy to help you out with the deviled eggs!
... and what was in your Easter basket?? Yummy looking confections! I wonder if Papa Pea shares ... ?
Glad you had a great Easter.
Hugs,
Yvette
You look like you had a great Easter.
Now that's a tradition I'm going to start next Easter. Every adult should get a wonderful Easter basket full of goodies too, not just get to sneak chocolate from her kid's baskets. LOL!
Looks like you all had a great day! Those candies look fantastic and I need to see if our library has a copy of that book. Our Easter dinner preparations were somewhat disrupted as you know, but we did enjoy a feast of lamb and chocolate macaroons!
I'M SURE GLAD YOU ALL HAD A GOOD DAY[I MUST BE HANGING AROUND MY HUSBAND TO MUCH- I SAID "YOU ALL"-HE'S FROM THE SOUTH ]MY G. S. DEVIN WOULD GLADLY FINISH OFF ALL THOSE GOODIES. THE RABBIT EARS ARE A NICE TOUCH! WE MANAGED TO SNAG THE EASTER BUNNY OUTSIDE THE DOLLAR TREE [ I HATE THAT STORE-EVERYTHING IS FROM CHINA ]---"HERE HOLD KATELYNN" SNAP-FREE PICTURE---GOTTA HURRY- OUR RIDE TO MY FAVORITE PLACE [NOT-THE VA ] WILL BE HERE IN LESS THAN A HOUR- GOTTA DRESS HUBBY- MYSELF--OH WHERE ARE THOSE DUMB SHOES......
Looks like a great time, and way better Easter baskets than are generally delivered around here! I'd better have a talk with the Easter bunny... And that sheepish book...now I know what's on my list!!
Well I am full on, all out jealous of those Easter baskets. That candy did look to die for. Hopefully the Easter Bunny Just didn't make it here yet. I hope a hawk didn't get him.
Piecefulafternoon - It was a low-key, fun day in which I ate too much. Plus I had one very full glass of wine that about took me out.
Ruth - Yep, she pulls those ears out every year and they always make us smile.
Jen - We loves those deviled eggs too!
Yvette - I will spread my basket stash out and take a picture of it for the blog. My daughter has a knack for picking out fun things I would for myself but don't 'cause I can get by without them. ;o}
Sparkless - You're darn right every adult should get a basket, too! Why should the tradition stop when you're no longer a kid??
Leigh - Lamb and macaroons! What could say Easter more. We haven't had any lamb in a while and I've missed it. Yum.
judy - Sounds like you're off for another busy, busy day! Have a good one.
Mama Tea - I got two copies of "Sheepish" . . . one for daughter and one for me. We met Catherine and Melissa two years ago when they were in our area. They're both really, really great gals with terrific senses of humor.
Jane - Keep an eye out for the wabbit. Your baskets are probably so big and heavy they are slowing him down.
Fun! I can't wait to read 'Sheepish', and those chocolate concoctions sound wonderful!
What a nice, quiet day! Mine was as well - glad it's over...
Erin - I've started my copy of "Sheepish" and (as usual with her books) am having trouble putting it down. If it were winter time (rather than hot weather by you now) I'd mail you a couple of Chicken Mama's confections. They are really quite delectable!
Susan - We truly did have a nice low-key day. And I have enough leftovers for a couple of days!
Wow! What an Easter! Do you think Chicken Mama would want to share her recipe for those delicious looking candies?! I am drooling...
Melissa - Re the recipe . . . you'll have to check with Chicken Mama herself. I don't have the recipe . . . nor do I want it! They'll always taste soooo much better when she makes them. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)
Mr. Lonely - Thanks for stopping by and your smile!
