Although the highest we saw yesterday on our thermometer on the north side of the house in the shade was 37 degrees, we had a whole lotta melting going on. The sun was shining brightly all day and many inches of snow disappeared.
Here I am hanging out of hubby's second floor office window (again) looking at the yard area right in front of the house. Grass! I can see grass!
Look at those raised beds emerging from their long winter's sleep. They were still completely covered when we got up yesterday morning. This shot was taken at 3 p.m. in the afternoon.
That is actual water in the pond. Okay, so it's still solid ice right underneath, but it is water nonetheless.
Back down on ground level now, this is the roadway back to the wood sheds.
Going back to the wood working area, all surfaces that had been plowed are down to the gravel now. As you can see, we still have a few piled-up banks of snow that will be around for a while though.
This is the driveway as it enters our back yard. Shady spots are always so slow to melt.
Lastly, this is right off the front deck. I didn't edit the color on this picture at all. You can actually see green(ish) grass!
My faith in the coming spring has been reaffirmed. It may actually happen.
